About

Welcome to the Jewish Publication Society online!

We have a lot going on these days being a 120 year old non-profit moving into the digital age.  Of course, we’re still doing the great work of publishing quality Jewish books – we’re proud to enhance Jewish life and culture with our Bibles, biographies, histories, holiday anthologies,  and religious and philosophical studies.  And we’re also continuing to bring Jewish books and knowledge to communities in need through our Mitzvah Projects.

We’re beginning to bring our content online through our new digital initiatives.  Our big project right now is the Tagged Tanakh, an online version of our popular translation of the Bible, but souped up as an open platform for users to link their own commentaries and interpretations to the text.

You can also now find us sharing our news and discussing our books on Facebook, sharing fun and interesting links of Jewish interest on Twitter, and, of course, discussing Jewish knowledge, Jewish books, and Jewish innovation on our blog.

The future of JPS is digital.  It’s accessible, dynamic, and interactive.  Join us as we venture ahead into the next 120 years.
